Independance Day and the nation

August is the month of our independence. Independence of the country whose name is Pakistan and which contains more than 160 million people and this is the 60th birthday of this country.

I am also a part of it but mostly a question arises in my mind that are we a nation? If a nation is territory with specific boundaries, population and one central government then we are a nation. But these are the tangible measures of the concept.

Is a human being’s body said to be a human being without a soul? Without software can a computer work? Can we make any law without a theory? In the same way by having a territory, population and government can we say that we are a nation?

Now I come to intangible measures. Lets start with our founder father famous motto i.e. Unity, faith and discipline. Today can we claim that we are united? Do we have faith?   Please go now Muree road and look that how much we are disciplined. Anyone can give me the name of a politician who does the politics of principles. Everyone is struggling for wealth and power. There are vast darkness of lies and no ray of truth.

Sixty years have been passed and still thinking that are we a nation? Being a student of social sciences when I think about my country, sorry to say, I came to that whether are we a nation? But still I am not disappointed. I am satisfied that many of us especially in youth who are thinking about their country.Every nation has a goal but what have we?

Iqbal said,

Na ho na umeed Iqbal apni kasht-e-veran se

Zra nam ho to yeh matti bohat zerkhaiz hai saqi

I am seeing that we are rebirthing. But the need is that we should not disappoint about our future. We should think and act like a nation. I wish that every Pakisatni should try to grow himself as a true Pakistani. He should think as a Pakistani, act as a Pakistani. We should unite ourfselves. We should raised the image of “Pakistaniat”

We have bad habits, bad attitudes and bad leaders. We are in great trial today. Never mind troubles and hardships are the mother of success.

We should not think that who is dong what, but we should act. We have talented, motivated and potential youth. We need a direction. I think our first destination is to promote “Pakistaniat” with in us. If we succeed we will be able to lead Ummah and ultimately the world.

Let start to give suggestions that how can we become a nation and we will follow these suggestions.

I start with,

This is month of independence; we must have a badge of Pakistani flag on our shirts.

I am waiting suggestions from every Pakistani that how we can promote Pakistaniat”.

In the name of God

“Khuda Kay lye” is not only a difficult topic but also very sensitive. I think it’s a brave effort from Shoaib Mansoor.

It shows Talibanization that how religious extremism does the brain washing of Muslim youth. They use them for their own objectives after brain washing. In the course many poor parents lose their beloved ones in the name of jihad. In response world think the only Muslims who involve in the bloodshed on the planet. Muslims who are already facing many challenges, one more adds. Islam as a religion is being criticized so I think these religious extremists are not helping Islam.

On the other hand, it shows the other side of the picture, the response of the western world especially after 9/11. How they caught innocent and torture them for the sin which they didn’t commit. This behavior of west has created the space between the east and west. Hate for west grew in the hearts of Muslims. As a result the religious gained some reasons to produce more so called terrorists.

This is what this movie shows. I think, both type of extremism i.e. religious and liberal extremism is wrong. Western response to counterterrorism results in producing more and more terrorist. If the same idea is represented by Bellwood or Hollywood then they show only one side of the picture i.e. Talibanization not the other side of the picture. So overall it’s a unique effort by Lollywood.

Now the question arises that what is impact of the movie on Pakistan? The answer has many dimensions. One is that clerics will oppose it because majority of them don’t believe in logics, other is that liberal mind will exploit it in the same way; west has exploited the religious extremism. But the most important impact is that this concept will bring awareness in the general public across the country.
